Quick and high flying lunch.

Heard the Shuttle was flying today and wanted to get the hell out of the house around lunch so called up a few friends and on very short notice had 2 aircraft and a Tandem hang glider in the air and Lacy along for her first glider flight with a friend and both of us caught pretty sweet view of our first daytime shuttle lauch as STS-129 headed out on its mission to the ISS. Formation flying is always makes for a nice lunch break.

Older, fatter, wiser ? Well 2 outta 3 isn't bad.... wait

Ugh bdays, Guess I should be happy my arm is starting to function semi normally. Maybe I'll celebrate by doing going to the gym with the guys and see how some cardio goes after my 3 month hiatus while they hit the weights. Probably back to some slightly slower but full time work this week which should go alot better since my arm has more movement then last week whe I tried to work my bandsaw some and pin and sew some fur (I really felt like I was going to lose a finger on the bandsaw as I wasn't feeling precision control in my gimp arm lol) but it's a bit better this week not stuck with like 3 inches of elbow joint motion :P . Stitches came out yesterday. Now I just have some butterfly stitches and a sore arm inside still that I'm trying to get my range of motion back in it. Doc said prob 3 more weeks for the bone to be nice and strong but the chunk of metal in it now keeps it pretty solid feeling ;) Lots of work for mff yadda yadda yadda. Lacy will try to keep customers as best updated as she can. But here comes playing the catch up game for awhile.

And because you're all a bunch of furries here is some cute gift art I've meant to show for awhile but been to lazy to. On the left is a gift from our good friend Grant/Apollowolf artwork by Eclipsewolf  then on the right  a piece from and by[info]latinvixen02.

I wanna fursuit again soon. The weather down here has been great for it.
Back to work for now.

One more Ray.

Stitches get pulled in 10 days. I can slowly start to move the elbow joint using my good hand to guide it. Right now there is only about 2-3 inches I can move my arm so everything is rather stiff. I know I'll get it to extend fully well before I'm ever able to lift my palm to my shoulder. It really hurts alot to move it much of anywhere so it will be slow going. I'm pretty sure things will heal now though just fine. Frozen corn makes a great ice pack btw :p

Most the folks on here I probably havent known for greater then 6 years. So post a picture of yourself say pre 2002 ? Come on share a photo :D Tilt I've seen plenty of your mullett but I wanna see another ;P

yup

I'm pretty sure I'm having surgery this Friday :/ Kind of a bummer considering we already waited this long for it to heal on it's own but I guess its just a shitty complicated break. The good news is if I have surgery the bone will be nice and stable thus heal quick and I'll be back up to speed (like double time) on work and I'll hopefully have no problems getting medically certified to go to Antarctica. Check out the mode of transportation I'll get to ride in on.

Who all is going to mff btw ?

5 weeks tomorrow

Boy those flew by fast even as depressing as they where. I really can't stand being/needing to stay so immobile but there isn't much I can do with my dominant arm still broken. The original 5-6 weeks is looking to be more of a 8-10. We went in today to see how the arm was looking and decide upon surgery or not and the Dr said that its showing signs of callousing which starts before you can even see it on the xray, and since we could see some and have made it this far he said we should give it a few more weeks and see where it's heading. It's offset about 20 degrees but i guess up to 30 is perfectly acceptable it's just distal humeral fractures are very tough to heal in adults. I tightened up my brace just a little more today and I'm going to try and be as innactive as possible for myself over the next 2 weeks so hopefully we can see good progress on the next set of xrays. I'm dying to get back to work and after alot of thinking get back in the air. So yeah here it is at 5 weeks blahhhhhhh !!!! I hate worrying about it so much but it's gotta heal.

better days

Stayed decently productive today actually selling off a few things I dont put to good use anymore and interest in a few other things. In the meanwhile [info]lacy  has listed up some random stuff from including a few animation cells, dvd's, games, etc so go take that stuff off her hands lacy.livejournal.com/51826.html . Thanks for the help sweetie and thank you so much everyone who has or does contribute. Good friends really do make going through tougher times alot better then they could be :) Thanks again to all those who checked up on me today it really does cheer me up hearing from you guys !  Time for more pain killers and some sleep !

blah

Usually id prefer to try and stay as chipper as possible in such times but I'm just feeling shitty :/ I do have basic insurance and was called by the local place that I have an appt. at just so they could tell me how much it sucks. Since they arent preferred by my IP (no one around here is) its something like a scale of 30 then 40 then yadda yadda isnt covered in full till i reach the $9000 cap.  Fuck me :/ Been scoping out things I can sell off such as my glider, games, some rc stuff i still have left. Lacy said she will sell her puppy boomer to help things along but it's still just putting a dent in things :( I really thought i was smarter trying to keep myself insured out of pocket and was keeping my priorities decently strait but it just never seems to be enough.  I just feel so stupid all around atm.
The other thing that has me down is how uncertain I am about whether or not this is healing properly. No one actually touched my arm after the xrays besides to put it in this sling. I keep fearing its not set right and will have to be broken and set again or wonder how they seemed so possitive it needed surgery to being so vague. Im afraid that maybe getting a 2nd opinion may just be wasting away money so im unsure what to do about that. I just wish i was told a little bit more about the situation is all and wish I where a bit better prepared for this financially.  I just want things to get better as quickly as possible so I can kick some ass working on suits. I feel so worthless when I am pretty much by all means worthless for the next 5-6 weeks when i comes to work. I just cant stop worrying about stuff :/
On a possitive note I do wanna thank people for their well wishes. And thank [info]lacy  and [info]arito  for their extra help around the house and esp with work. Ive been a little less then motivational the last few days and [info]arito  has been gracious enough to fill in helping keep lacy motivated and even taken on some of my work to try to keep the EF rush from getting to far off track though a few delays will be inevitable from this. Again Im sorry for any inconveniences, These are both testing times for us and our customers so patience will be greatly appreciated.  Now to ebay my life :/

Well this sucks.

Well I can tell you for certain today that I am not ambidexterous at all :( Yesterday afternoon I decided to take a little extended lunch out at the airport and do a bit of flying. Had a probably my longest soaring flight so far (about an hour) and also made my biggest learning mistake so far. Flared harder a little bit to early and popped up about and lets just say I didnt come down near as perfect as I usually do. Ended up with the glider nosed over laying in the grass telling myself Im an idiot while laying still knowing something was broken (ive broken both ankles so its not a foreign feeling anymore lol), after about a minute I tried moving things and immediatly felt the humorous bone crunching and could see my arm laying in what would look like a hyper extended position with the skin and muscle on my arm poking out a bit .  I straitened it out with my good hand took off my helmet and waited for some help to arrive.  Soon it did and the guys asked if i wanted a ambulance but i knew they wouldnt do anything different then we would besides destroying my harness cutting me out of it so we took our time trying to get me out of it without further aggrivating the injury set the glider up off the runway and headed for the hospital .  As we got the xrays i was told surgery was needed etc etc but in the end they decided to see how its healing in about a week in the sling.

All i can say is it realllly sucks losing the use of your prefered arm. i though at first it wouldn't be to bad but now it just feels weird because sometimes ill try to move my hand out and it feel like i am but its just the upper part of the humorous moving and nothing else.  Also painful if I bend forward at all since my arm swings out freely unless i hold it tighly to my body :/ The worst part about this is how I feel for customers. I really really hate the thought of delays esp if the suit is for a convention. I know as a con gets closer the excitement increases to going to the con and possibly suiting for the first time and now its inevitable that there will be some delays. While Lacy will be working hard we both work on things we excel at and this will most deff hinder some work while im down and out for the next 4-6 weeks. Ill be doing my best to heal as quickly as possible but i can only help bone growth along so much.  I'm so sorry i really honestly am :/

I think I may get a 2nd opinion on whether it should heal on its own or if surgery is needed. I just get sick at the thought of the bills that will come along with this. I know i will make it work as i always have but its just so unexpected. Payment plans are a bitch and it seems like they do so little and charge so much. Im just guessing 5-$8000. Fuck they just sent Adam a $1100 bill for 4 stitches wtf !  Shoot me :/

So in other news anyone want to purchase a hang glider ;) ?

My apologies for any poor punctuation or if i was to vague at all but left handed typing sucks !

I'll miss getting a chance to suit and play at megaplex this week which is right own the road and helping to celebrate 2 friends bdays but I guess it's all well and good since i'll be probably dissapointing a few folks with some delays.

Take care you guys.

Little bit of Flying

Just a little bit of video from some recent flights. Been playing with my little wide angle go pro hero wide angle camera. 2 flights on this video from 2 different angles. I'll be playing with more angles later once I have time to rig up better mounts.

Price increase but not quality :P

Looks like they started using slightly better materials but boy do they still look like they have horrible quality. I just don't understand why they try to copy fursuits instead of coming up with something randomly new and original.

$500 now :P
